7th & 8th Grade Bands
Our MMS bands are outstanding! In 6th grade, they begin their musical journey, learning their new instruments and fundamentals. Many of our 7th and 8th graders participate in district and state honor bands.
MTB Marching Band
Featured above: The 2025 Murray Tiger Band comprised of 124 students. With their show "From Dusk Till Dawn" MTB brought home the KMEA Class 3AA State Championship with a score of 89.850!
After the marching season is over, our students fully transition into concert season, which includes many other band opportunities.
Color Guard/Winter Guard

Our Color Guard works hard during marching season, but also during the Winter Guard competitive season.
Our Winter Guard completed at and won the WGI2024 Knoxville Regional in Scholastic Regional A!
Percussion
Color Guard/Winter Guard
Our percussion students make up the Front Ensemble and Drumline during marching season. After marching season, many percussion members perform in Tiger Beats, our indoor traveling percussion group.
Jazz Bands
Additional Opportunities
MHS Jazz Band, MMS Jazz Band,
and Lab Jazz Band. Our jazz bands perform for local events, as well as hosting their "Sweet Jazz" events.
